Hi, my name is Alia and I'm a beautiful five year old female GSD who was surrendered to FRGSR along with my sister Paws when our owner had to move to take care of elderly family members and dogs weren't allowed. This change has been really hard on both of us, because living with our former owner is all we've known until now. We've not been properly socialized with dogs or people and it's been difficult for us to learn to trust new people, but we are both making slow progress. There are kennel workers and skilled FRGSR volunteers who are slowly earning our trust one session at a time. Our former owner said that we don't need to be adopted together. I am going to need a very patient adopter who will allow me to come out of my shell on my timeline, not his/hers. I am house trained and once you earn my trust, I can be very affectionate.
